Considered one of the provinces worth visiting Phichit Province is located in the lower north of Thailand between Nakhon Sawan and Phitsanulok. It’s a small province known as Chalawan City. The legend is about a guy named Kraithong that fights with a crocodile named Chalawan. Phichit has beautiful attractions, a good atmosphere, charming, many old temples, nice hotels, a retro market, train stations, and an important landmark like See Fai Swamp. Let’s see all 10 places that you should go to in Phichit.

Phichit Old City Park

Let’s start at the first destination. This is Phichit old city park. You can walk around and see the story of this old town and take beautiful photos, or dress in Thai costumes and take photos as souvenirs as well. Within the park area there is a city pillar shrine as well. If you visit Phichit this place is worth worshipping and paying homage to for auspiciousness.

Next is the famous tourist attraction in Phichit. If you don’t come here it’s like you haven’t arrived. This is a large swamp with beautiful views and it’s as wide as your eye can see. Surrounded by big trees and a big crocodile. There’s a long wooden bridge for you to walk and chill out. This is also a beautiful photo spot. In the evening, the atmosphere is very good. Most tourists like to come to watch the sunset.

This temple is important for Phichit people for a very long time. It’s been here for more than 800 years. The temple’s walls are carved into a narrow light channel instead of a window, which is a characteristic of Thai architecture in the Sukhothai-Ayutthaya style. Tourists will come to pay respect to the presiding monk in the church. And also come to walk around the temple area. It’s quiet and relaxing, and you can also take photos of the old temple with historical value.

The atmosphere in front of the temple is shady and there is a water stream flowing through. The annual event in this temple is very busy, there will be shops on both sides of the road. There will be an event where people sail a long boat too. People come to pay homage to the monks and sit and feed the fish, chilling in front of the temple.

If you love to travel in nature and see beautiful flowers, you must visit the famous Krachiao flower field in Phichit province. The atmosphere is good. Especially in the morning because the mist looks very beautiful. Krachiew flowers will bloom at the end of the rainy season. The pink color will be everywhere in this field. Very nice experience with good weather in the morning.

Chalerm Phrakiat Fish Exhibition Hall, Phichit

If you’re looking for a place to travel with children then you must visit the fish breeding center, Bueng Si Fai, where inside, you can learn about various aquatic species and get a closer look.

The Chaloem Phrakiat building was built in a 9-pointed star shape, extending into the Si Fai lake. They display fish species in a glass tank every day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is no admission fee.

This is a famous temple in Phichit and is also a place to practice dharma. People come to make merit, and pay homage to the blessing. Inside the temple is shady and there are statues of the ten lords or a statue of the Bodhisattva before enlightenment as Buddha.

Take a walk and enjoy sightseeing and gain knowledge as well. The atmosphere is good and quiet so you won’t be distracted while practicing dharma.

Chalawan Cave

As I said before this is the town of Chalawan so you must stop by Chalawan Cave to take some photos. Chalawan Cave is located next to Wat Mahathat. According to the legend, there was a story about 65 years ago, a monk at Nakhon Chum Temple Light a candle and walk into the cave.

Even after the end of the candle, he still didn’t reach the bottom of the cave. Therefore, he didn’t know how beautiful inside Chalawan cave was. Many years later the soil erosion and overflowed until it is like this today.
